White Mountain Sangha is a community gathered in Northern New England for all who are interested in knowing the truth of what you are. This truth reveals itself as we attend in a new way to our direct experience in this life. With sincere attention and curious inquiry into how life is expressing through us, we see through many long-held beliefs that are the cause of confusion and suffering within us. We see that we are not limited by a physical body, by our personal story or by the conditions arising in our life. As we explore the teaching offered by the sangha, the ground of our being is revealed as the essence of love. We are life itself, living out the qualities of joy, love, compassion and every-day being-ness.

The teaching that points to this truth is offered in a format we meet in called satsang. This is a Sanskrit term, from the roots sat meaning truth and sang for community. In this gathering we generally meditate for about 20 minutes, then hear a talk from the teacher followed by a chance for direct questions and answers between the teacher and those gathered. During this time, often students ask questions or relate experiences they’re interested in looking into with the guidance of a teacher.

The teachers of White Mountain Sangha hold no special claim to truth. All people embody this truth. What our teachers offer is words and guidance based on their experience of this truth within themselves. Our teachers offer the invitation to you to know and embody this truth that is available and wishing to be embodied from within you. The teaching itself comes spontaneously through understanding of the truth.

Our form of meditation is very simple and relaxed. We ask that people sit upright, resting in silence and stillness. Comfort and ease is important, so we invite people to sit in a chair, in a kneeling position or on floor seating, whatever is most comfortable.

In addition to satsang, we also hold silent retreats for the community, where in a sustained experience of silence, meditation and multiple satsangs, the teaching can infuse and inform the participants in a deeper way. It can be very helpful to the unfolding of this teaching within you, to spend a period of days dedicated to resting in the space of satsang.

All who are drawn to an understanding of the truth, beauty and love of life just as it is belong to the community of White Mountain Sangha. Please join us! If you would like to hear about our schedule of events, please e-mail us and ask to join the mailing list.
